Giving design and arts students the chance to dream bigger
When Dominique Joseph graduated from the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts in 2024, she had already landed a job in the fashion industry in Los Angeles. She credits that success to the education and opportunities she received at ASU FIDM, one of six schools in the Herberger Institute, and to the donors who supported the funds behind her scholarships.
“It meant the world to me to receive this funding because it took financial stress off of me, which is an indescribable feeling. I am very thankful to all of my scholarship donors.”
Joseph is just one of the more than 1,600 design and arts students who graduated that year, and since then the Herberger Institute community has continued to grow, now with more than 9,000 current students, over 600 faculty and around 250 staff, plus our alumni, community and industry partners, and visiting artists and scholars.
As ASU Vice Provost and Herberger Institute Dean Renee Cheng reflects on her first year at ASU, she says, “Our greatest achievements come from the collective passion of everyone connected to this institute, our alumni, partners and supporters.”
Your involvement helps Herberger Institute programs continue to thrive and allows students to dream bigger, explore new ideas and reach their full potential. Whether it’s helping a young artist find their voice, supporting a new exhibition or expanding opportunities in emerging technologies, your belief in design and the arts and in the students fuels success at the Herberger Institute and beyond.
You’re invited to continue that support by becoming a Friend of any—or even multiple—Herberger Institute divisions and mediums. Or, if you’d like to help advance broader initiatives, you can make a difference by supporting the Dean’s Investment Fund. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us shape the future of creativity and innovation.
Thank you all for your dedication, collaboration and inspiration!
