The good news: ASU Kerr got its very own liquor license! Once we are back in 2021 for our limited-capacity season shows, you will be able to enjoy drinks along with the music or theater events and not have to rush to and from a neighboring restaurant or bar. We will also be able to increase the level of service for our rental events by serving our own drinks. The next step is for us to create a permanent boundary to our property, as this is required for ASU Kerr to be able to serve adult beverages outside. It’s all good news, actually, because we will be adding attractive planters and greenery to the perimeter to give the front of the venue a peaceful, garden-like setting and satisfy this Arizona liquor service requirement.
A very crucial part of this next step will be for us to fund this perimeter project so we can afford the new improvements to the property. Your contributions will go directly to the purchase, labor and care involved in installing the new gates, elephant food plants and planters, and you will be directly supporting a historic home for the arts in the Valley as it evolves with the needs of our wonderful show-goers and renters.
If you are able to contribute to this project, we hope you will do what you can to support ASU Kerr. The new beverage program at ASU Kerr will help increase the venue’s ability to rebound financially after the temporary closure, as it will open up a substantial new income stream for us and further help sustain our beautiful facility. By helping with this much-needed improvement to the venue, you will be directly contributing to our mission of Connecting Communities™ so we can continue to pay artists, produce shows and touch the lives of our visitors with powerful arts programming and top-notch rental amenities. If you cannot contribute but know some supporters who may be able to do so, please share. We can’t wait to be able to celebrate with you at the venue in person. We’ll definitely drink to that!
