Our Crowdfunding Groups
Doran Community Scholars are first-generation graduates from the Phoenix Union High School District. Due to a lack of resources, we normally do not have the opportunity to travel across this country to experience our great nation's history. The Doran Scholars Program is designed to focus on leadership by providing students access to community service, civic engagement, and career & professional development opportunities. For example, this year we partnered with College Depot to provide a scholarship workshop. By using our stories as an example, we showed high school students the opportunities available to them and how to obtain them. To further develop the leadership skills that we have been gaining through this program we are planning a trip to Washington DC. This trip will help us grow as world citizens and expand our understanding of how change happens. It will also help us become better mentors and role models to future 1st generation college students.
With your support, our cohort will obtain our goal of traveling to Washington DC.
