Muslims are an important part of the American fabric. But despite Islam's rich history in the U.S., American Muslims have been seen as "the other" for at least the last decade.
The media and the actions of a minority that misrepresent Islam are causing our fellow Americans to fear us, and it is up to us to show everyone that this fear is unfounded. Until we get to know each other, all of us will continue to suffer from the consequences of ignorance and mistrust.
The Muslim Students Association is grateful for the opportunity to share our beliefs with the ASU community through Islam Awareness Week. Please consider donating generously to help offset the expenses.
