Hello fellow MTax and MAcc distinguished students!
We have some news to share: right after spring break, the School of Accountancy is launching a special class campaign that will run for 30 days. Even better news: If we join together in this effort to help next year’s students, a group of the faculty will match our contributions!
Here’s the FAQ:
Why is this important?
The School hopes to attract even MORE of the best students in the world – like YOU – by providing more scholarship support. Some applicants to our programs are deciding to enroll at other universities because our School can’t meet their financial needs. Our collective support will help bring them here instead.
Wait! We Already Paid Tuition and it was $$!
That's where the faculty challenge comes into play! The goal is focused much more on participation and less on a big dollar goal. The suggested contribution is $25, although no gift is too small. If we reach 75% participation, we’ll qualify for the faculty matching dollars – that will be $4,500! If we reach our overall goal of $9,000 including the matching dollars from our faculty, that will provide a very helpful scholarship to an MTax or MAcc student next year. Also, the faculty tell us that it’s common for competitive business schools to hold class fundraising campaigns to support future students. And it’s common for them to reach a high level of participation. Our support will help W. P. Carey become even more competitive.
How will we know if we’ve qualified for the faculty matching dollars?
The School will send out a few updates via email in the coming weeks, and the charts you see to the right will show our progress.
Two minutes of your time making a gift will have a big impact. Please join us, and THANK YOU!
