2018 ASC Integrated Project Delivery

In February 2018, students from the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University will be competing in the ASC Student Competition put on by the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC). We need your financial support to get there!

The ASC Region 6, 7, and Open Category Competition is one of the largest construction management and construction engineering events in the nation.  Last year’s competition hosted over 1,100 students, including 160 teams representing 34 universities from 17 states.

February 7 - 10, 2018 in Sparks, Nevada, ASU will be sending students to compete in the Design Build, Commercial, Heavy/Civil, Concrete Solutions, Preconstruction Services, Mixed-Use, Integrated Project Delivery, Sustainable Construction & LEED, Virtual Design & Construction and Electrical problem categories.

Last year ASU succeeded in sending 7 teams to participate with our Heavy/Civil team netting a third place finish. We are excited to build upon that success this year with many returning students preparing to lead their respective teams through another great competition.

The primary goal of the event is to provide students with the real-world experience necessary for them to succeed in the industry. To be selected for the ASC Competition, students are first required to demonstrate professionalism and a strong work ethic.  Once assigned, teams began working in preparation for the competition by obtaining mentors throughout the industry and attending classes.  By preparing and competing in this competition, students are able to learn more about the construction industry than through classes alone, making them a more valuable employee for their future employers.

In an effort to ensure the funding for the teams wishing to participate in the 2018 ASC Competition, we are asking select companies within our community to provide sponsorship. The costs for each team of eight— including airfare, lodging, food, and competition supplies— will be approximately $4,000, or $40,000 in total for all ten teams to compete. Your entire donation may be considered a charitable contribution by your company.  Checks can be made payable to:
