AMOR has been building houses alongside Puerto Penasco's most vulnerable for 29 years.
This represents the % of volunteers that have built a previous house.
During the building season (Oct - June), an average of 151 people are on site helping build homes alongside the impoverished.
In Puerto Penasco, each family has an average of 4.2 family members. With 58 homes built per year, 244 people a year are provided safety, security and the ability to keep the family together!
So you don't have to do the math, that's 19,425 homes that have been built through AMOR missions since 1980 primarily in Mexico, South Africa and San Carlos Apache reservation. Amor is currently expanding to Fiji, Kenya and other regions.
Each building team uses a minimum of 4 bags of ice per day for lunches and drinks, average 6 teams. In addition, the La Cocina uses 150 bags per month for refrigeration.
This donation allows the purchase of a propane powered freezer with taxes, duty and delivery. Similar to: E-Z Freeze - Blizzard EZ-2203F (BF-22UF) 22 cu. ft. Upright Propane Gas Freezer
This will allow the preservation of perishable cooking supplies without the need of an ice chest. This will save the La Cocina approximately 500 bags of ice per year. This donation represents the heart of the La Cocina project. From this stove will come amazing home-made tortillas, refried beans, quesadillas, omelets, Posole and leche con arroz to name a few. The stove will be similar to: Cooking Performance Group S60-GS24-N Natural Gas 6 Burner 60 inch Range with 24 inch Griddle/Broiler and 2 Standard Ovens - 276,000 BTU
Sometimes you just need to put it out there. We know this is a HUGE amount to donate. Perhaps you are part of a construction group(s) that are willing to donate time, treasure and talent to provide the Gas, Electric, Water, Foundation, Walls/Roofing to complete the facility to support the appliances. This donation would be such a blessing to this community.
