Help Shape Careers

One-third of the freshmen at ASU are first-generation college students. Your gift ensures students new to the college experience flourish at Arizona State University. With your support, students otherwise unable to attend college can get the higher education they need in an increasingly competitive landscape.

CLAS Alumni First Generation Endowed Scholarship: Students who are the first in their families with an opportunity to earn a college degree are twice as likely to leave school before their sophomore year. These scholarships support students by easing financial pressure, allowing first-generation students to focus on academics and participate in campus activities.

Barrett, the Honors College First Generation Scholarship: The Barrett Honors College offers scholarships to first-generation students in order to lessen financial weight and allow them to focus their efforts on their education.

School of Molecular Sciences First Generation Scholarship: The School of Molecular Sciences Scholarship supports outstanding students completing degrees in chemistry or biochemistry in the School of Molecular Sciences. The number of scholarships awarded in an academic year is variable and focuses on first-generation students.

Uta Monique Behrens Women’s Studies First Generation Scholarship: Uta Behrens is the first Lifetime Donor to Friends of Women’s Studies. This endowed scholarship supports a first-generation undergraduate student, majoring in Women’s Studies, ensuring students to have the opportunity to pursue advanced research in a wide range of topics, including: reproductive health, women’s history, gender and media, gender in science and technology and gender violence.
