Gifts to Fighting Food Insecurity in Nicaragua contribute to...
We are Project Nicaragua, a team within Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) at Arizona State University. We’re a passionate group of students from diverse engineering backgrounds, from computer and mechanical engineering to engineering management. Together, we are driven to use our engineering skills to make a meaningful and sustainable difference in the world.
We are partnering with the Worldwide Child Relief Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the rural community of Calle Real de Tolapa, Nicaragua, through programs that foster emotional, social, economic, medical and educational growth. Our mission is to design and implement resource-efficient vertical gardens to help families in the community grow their own food and improve nutrition.
In December 2025, we will travel to Calle Real de Tolapa to implement our vertical garden designs and lead hands-on workshops that teach families how to build and maintain their own systems. Besides project implementation, we will also be volunteering in the community through activities such as supporting English classes and youth programs.
Your donation this Giving Tuesday will directly support our travel and implementation efforts, including costs for flights, lodging, local transportation, materials and food. Your gift will make a tangible difference in the lives of families in Calle Real de Tolapa, helping them gain the knowledge and tools they need to grow their own food and sustain their community.
Please donate before Giving Tuesday ends!
