Over 35% of The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences' students at ASU are first-generation scholars who have overcome obstacles to be part of ASU. Students may encounter unexpected crises such as family emergencies, lack of funds to purchase books, supplies and meals, exhaustion of financial aid to pay tuition and more.
