Honor Thunderbird’s legacy through the 80 for 80 campaign!

What is 80 for 80? This year, Thunderbird is celebrating its 80th anniversary and eight decades of impact, innovation, and inspiration. In honor of this momentous occasion, we are asking T-birds around the world to help us honor this landmark with a donation of $80 or more to our student hardship fund or scholarship fund. In other words, 80 for 80!

Why should I give? Right now, we are living in a world of rapid change and complexity, and who better to lead the way to a brighter global future than T-birds? Graduates of Thunderbird have always been future-focused, nimble leaders uniquely positioned to address our world’s most complex challenges. As we pay homage to a legacy nearly a century in the making, we look to the next generation of T-birds who will continue the work of those who came before. Donating to our 80 for 80 campaign helps ensure the T-birds of tomorrow can thrive today.

What impact do I make when I give? Finances should never be a barrier to education. When you donate to our scholarship fund or hardship fund, you are helping students graduate positioned for success and less burdened by student loan debt or the debt students often face as the result of emergencies, like sudden trips home, cost of living increases, transportation breakdowns and more. Furthermore, knowing alumni support them provides our current students with more confidence, as they know their community and their school stands behind them.

As MGM student and SHARE Fellow Sonia Kentaro said, “Knowing the T-birds who have come before me believe in me enough to donate to my education means the world. I want to make them proud by being the best I can be, and it really makes me feel more supported knowing the Thunderbird network wants to help me change my life.”

How do I give?

There are three great ways to join our 80 for 80 campaign and change the future:

• Make a donation of $80 or more to our student hardship fund or scholarship fund

• Make a recurring donation of $80 to make an even more lasting impact

• Make a donation of $1,946 to honor Thunderbird’s founding year, when our school transformed from a lonely airfield in the desert, to a future-focused force for global transformation

All three of the options above make an incredible impact on our students and their futures.
