One Week Left!

November 13, 2019

Guess what?!

With one week left, we are almost on our way to the 2020 Alliance Management Institute! That's right, we now have received $20,001, which is 80% of our campaign goal! We can now fund:

11 Full Scholarships!

OR

All of our Transportation Fees, Hotel Rooms, Marketing & Communications Costs, Meals, Student Supplies, AMI 2020 Polos, and Awards & Gifts!

In honor of hitting 80%, check out a class photo of us dressed in our best '80s garb (including a very retro American Humanics T-shirt)! Also, check out another interview with one of our future AMI attendees: Meredith Clements!

Meet a future AMI Attendee!

November 04, 2019

Thank you!

We have now received $9,401! That's more than 1/3 of our Alliance Management Institute 2020 campaign goal! With $9401, we can now fund: • 5 Full Student Scholarships OR • All of our Conference Fees, Hotel Costs, and Meals

With your help, we will be able to send all of our students to AMI 2020 by the end of our campaign on November 20th!

We thank each of you for your continued support of our campaign and we cannot wait to complete our goal! Stay tuned for more updates. Check out what future AMI attendee Sasha has to say about her experience with the campaign!

Meet Sasha:

Sasha is a Senior at Arizona State University studying Nonprofit Leadership and Management as well as taking a certificate to become a Certified Nonprofit Professional. Sasha is originally from France but she came to the United States to further her Education. She is planning on going to AMI in January with her other classmates from her certification program. Sasha was asked a couple of questions about AMI and this is what she had to say:

What has been your favorite part about the campaign so far? What has been the most challenging part of the campaign so far?

To me, fundraising and actually speaking to potential donors has both been my favorite and the most challenging part of AMI. It is something I am still nervous about, even scared of sometimes, which is exactly the reason why I love it. Overcoming my fear, pushing myself to embrace how uncomfortable it can be, and growing from the feedback I get after, is one of the most valuable experiences I am getting through AMI. I can feel the growth, and be proud of what I am accomplishing because even if I do not successfully get a donation, I still bravely and enthusiastically do something I am scared of, that is asking donors for financial contributions.

What do you want to get out of this experience?

More than soliciting financial support from potential donors, I have come to realize that fundraising is about building relationships. I started the experience hoping to get more comfortable and skilled in fundraising, and I am, but I did not think about the opportunity it would be to sit down with individuals who have already started a career, and are generous sources of advice and guidance as well. My perspective on AMI has now changed, and out of the experience I am hoping to get, and actually getting, more professional insights from talented and experienced people, who give me new perspectives and support my ambitions.

What are you most excited to experience at the AMI conference?

I am looking forward to meeting many of the hundreds of passionate students who are as eager as I am to create positive and sustainable change in the world. Brainstorming together on creative solutions, exchanging ideas and inspiring one another is for me one of the most exciting aspect of the conference.
