Del E. Webb School of Construction Recruiter Position

Building the Pathway  - Ensuring the pipeline of talent for the construction industry

The demand for well-prepared builders, innovators and leaders in the construction industry continues to grow at a rapid pace.  Identified as the critical need for success and growth in the industry, executives from leading companies have come together to pilot a partnership with ASU, dedicating funding for a recruitment position within the Del E. Webb School of Construction.  Initiated to build a stronger pipeline of talent for the construction industry through community awareness, the collaborative work of the recruiter and the industry community has grown the Del E. Webb School of Construction by over 340 students.

In order to build on this success and continue the work needed to highlight the pathways to careers in the construction community,  the DEWSC Industry Executive Committee and their 18 companies ask you to join in their support to secure the future of the Del E. Webb School of Construction recruitment position for at least the next 3 years, with the ultimate goal of building up the fund to where it becomes an endowed position.  Together, funding for the role will go to support the direct salary of the position and off-set expenses for the implementation of community outreach efforts.

The Del E. Webb School of Construction Recruiter Position

Dedicated to expanding the reach of the construction industry and engaging students and industry partners each year, the recruiter position leads the outreach to students and industry around the strengths and rewards of a career in construction management through multiple activities including:

  • Planning, building, and creating student recruitment strategies

  • Engaging and visiting with middle school, high school, community college and internal ASU students interested in joining the the field of construction

  • Planning and coordinating K-12, community college and industry visits to ASU

  • Designing, developing and creating media including direct and social media campaigns, articles, stories and promotional materials

  • Connecting industry to partnered recruitment and skills building engagement opportunities including classes, safety training and credentialing opportunities

  • Supporting ASU student organizations and competitions

Dedicating a full time role to this work is critical for our continued success, the growth of the school and the growth of the talent pipeline.  We are seeking to secure this role for three years and ensure we have the ability to make it through uncertain times.   We look forward to working with you and building the community of support together.  As a group, this funding is well within reach and will support the growth in the talent pipelines to match the needs in the industry.
