Lumela bo-me le bo-ntate! Hello everyone!
As some of you may know one of us, all of us or none of us, we'd like to properly introduce you all to this stellar team!
First up, Libbie Farrell. Libbie is the team's researcher and writer for the project. Much of her experience leading up to this project has been focused on community-based climate solutions while working as a Peace Corps volunteer in Timor Leste and, most recently, monitoring and evaluation development for SolarSPELL. Libbie's passion is truth-seeking, preserving indigenous knowledge, and speaking up for the environment. Her hobbies are yoga, rock climbing, reading memoirs, and spending time with her cat, Olive, and friends.
Next on the team is our creative genius Ben Keller, cameraman and co-director. Ben's passion lies in cultural preservation through filmmaking. His previous films have closely followed the indigenous communities in Columbia and Peru working to mitigate climate change and share the stories of land stewards globally. Ben also works with the UNDP supporting the data collection and distribution of SIDs (small island developing countries). In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, singing, playing guitar, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
Finally, introducing Allison Hoops, the project's producer and co-director. Allison is a former Peace Corps volunteer who worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Lesotho, teaching high school math and life skills. Since starting school at ASU, she has interned with SolarSPELL supporting partnership development, monitoring and evaluation, and content development for the East African library. Her passion is implementing grassroots initiatives on literacy, youth HIV/AIDs programming, and food access. She enjoys surfing, longboarding, rock climbing, painting, and spending time with her friends and family in her free time.
However, we must remember some of the most critical team members- all of you! Thank you for your continued support and interest as you follow us through Lesotho. We look forward to staying in touch and sharing our journey with you all.
Until next time-
Allison, Ben, and Libbie
