ASU Kerr is a one-of-a-kind performing arts venue with unique required care.
These projects call for special methods and materials to stay true to the property’s original, historic splendor.
We’ve started this Pitchfunder campaign to raise $58,000 to address these urgent preservation needs. Your contributions will positively impact the beauty, safety and comfort of ASU Kerr, ensuring warm and welcoming events for visitors and patrons.
There are many adobe areas inside and outside the venue needing critical attention. Some areas are very large and some are small damages in key structural or high traffic points. Moisture and pests are some of the largest threats to the one-of-a-kind former home of Louise Lincoln Kerr and the venue portion of the property.
Restoration now will repair, protect and preserve the venue for generations to come, and allow the beautiful structures to continue to be the home for concerts, shows and events that bring our communities together.
ABOUT ASU KERR
Facing East, inspired by the Hopi ceremonies into which she was welcomed, the adobe home of Louise Lincoln Kerr was built on 47 acres of pristine desert and citrus groves at the northernmost edge of a small Western town known as Scottsdale in 1948. Her personal musical space, The Studio, followed in 1959.
Built of handmade bricks made from the earth of the property, the Kerr property has been a picturesque destination for artists to visit since its creation. Now known as ASU Kerr, we continue the pioneering spirit of our roots – bringing musicians and audiences together to relax in this eclectic, funky space and enjoy unexpected experiences.
