Inspiration
The Dominga Sanchez Family Scholarship was founded in 2021 by her son, Leo Sanchez to change lives in her honor. The inspiration for the scholarship came from Dominga’s constant support of her son while working through school. No other vehicle for honoring her memory seemed more fitting than one that shares her nature of positively and directly affecting a person’s life.
To pay tribute to the impact that Dominga Sanchez had on so many throughout her life, this endowed scholarship seeks to impact the life of students who can carry her ideals of fully living, fully loving, and committing to selflessness into the future.

About Dominga
Dominga Sanchez was a person who fully lived, fully loved, and fully committed to a practice of selflessness.
Dominga’s expression of life was a high-spirited sincerity. She stressed the importance of balancing the seriousness of life with its joys and pleasures. Through dance, music, food, and other inventions of herself, Dominga invited conversation, laughter, and a sense of trueness that others could feel in her presence. Her expression of love was strength and mindfulness.
Dominga never abandoned her joy, no matter the loss or suffering. She always had a global sense of love by never holding grudges, loving unconditionally, and always thinking toward the future about those most precious to her. This forward thinking greatly informed her commitment to selflessness. She was always purposeful in her life, refusing to stay stagnant. Dominga sought to be a lifetime learner, continue to discover new things she enjoyed, and always push against the obstacles created from her own doubts. She did these things not only for her own growth but most importantly to be a model for her family, which she had an undying passion for and held as the most important aspect of her life.
