Rebecca Rand is studying forensic psychology at ASU and is this year’s recipient of the Portland ASU Alumni Chapter Scholarship. Choosing ASU for its top-notch educational programs, Rebecca knew she wanted to become a Sun Devil when she toured in high school.
“This scholarship will help me get one step closer to my goal of graduating ASU with a bachelor's degree,” Rebecca said. “College can be very expensive, and being first generation with a single mom makes college hard to afford. This scholarship is helping me further my dreams as an ASU Sun Devil.”
During her time at ASU, Rebecca hopes to maintain a strong GPA, set academic goals for herself and get a job to help pay off student loans.
“It is important to hold myself to a higher standard because I know I can reach my goals if I put my mind to it,” she said.
So far, this first-year student’s favorite ASU tradition has been rattling her keys at Sun Devil Football games.
“College has already been one of the greatest experiences of my life,” said Rebecca.
