Pat Tillman is celebrated for his service and sacrifice for our country. Like Pat, many other Sun Devils have joined the Armed Forces and fought bravely and sacrificed for our country.
There are 129 Sun Devils who deserve to be remembered in a respectful, honorable way. This memorial wall provides a place for generations of ASU students, staff, and family members to pay their respects. The Memorial Wall is designed to be a long-lasting reminder to the ASU community of fallen military personnel who have walked the halls of ASU before them. The Veterans Chapter of the ASAAA has identified the names of 128 men and one woman to include on the ASU Memorial for the Fallen, which will be located near the Pat Tillman Center in the Memorial Union on ASU’s Tempe Campus.
The ASU Alumni Association Veterans Chapter is a special interest section of the ASU Alumni Association. In the interest of honoring those who have, like their members, served in the armed forces, the Veterans Chapter has stepped up to design and fundraise for the Memorial Wall. It is intended that this Memorial for the Fallen will be dedicated in April of 2016. We need your help to ensure that these fallen Sun Devils can be recognized for their commitment to our country and community.
Future submission of additional names to the Veterans Chapter for possible inclusion on the official list is welcome and encouraged (carillon@asu.edu). The current draft list, titled “In Memoriam-We Still Remember,” is currently available for public review on ASU’s Symphonic Carillon website: asu.edu/carillon/memorial.html
