What is the Problem that this scholarship is solving?

In order to earn a Masters degree in Sports Law & Business (MSLB), students need to earn 6 internship credits which equates to around 330 - 360 hours. Internships are seldom paid in order to receive the required academic credit. Each student is required to dedicate hundreds of hours and must forego the many benefits that are accompanied with the program experience. Therefore, students must choose between paying for school and living expenses, or taking full advantage of the exclusive opportunities that the program offers while accumulating severe student loan debt.

How is this scholarship the solution?

The Sports Law & Business Scholarship will help reduce this financial burden for students to fully immerse themselves in the MSLB experience. This will allow students to take advantage of internships, guest speakers, networking opportunities, volunteering, and professional development that the program offers. With your support, students can regularly attend or participate in:

ASU Sports Symposium featuring Ray Anderson, Jo Pututo, Andrew Brandt, Jeramie MacPeek, Senator Adam Driggs and others Guest Speakers: Mark Tatum, Bud Selig, David Williams, John Martin, Mark Scialabba, Debbie Spander, Marc Eisenberg and others Professional Development/Networking Events: Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks

With your contribution, students can fully dedicate themselves to internships with organizations such as:

Major League Baseball: Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres 2017 Phoenix Final Four Local Organizing Committee National Football League Office Arizona State University Athletics Arizona United Soccer Club About Sports Law & Business

The Sports Law & Business Program at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University is the only program in the country that combines sports law and business. The Master of Sports Law & Business degree is a one-year, 36-credit hour degree for people who want to master legal principles that impact sports organizations. Graduates are equipped to understand the sports market and the regulatory forces at play in the U.S. and globally. Thank you for your gift and sharing our message.
